Sifu Robin Young (Chan Chuk On) began teaching Lor’s Hung Kuen Kung Fu in Guelph, Ontario in 1994. He began his training at the age of eight in 1968 and has over 49 years experience in this traditional Chinese Martial Art form. He has taught since 1975 under the guidance of his late masters James Lore (Lor King Hung) and Jack Chin (Chin Fong). Sifu Young was the head instructor of the well respected Jing Mo Kung Fu Club in Toronto Chinatown. Sifu Young’s focus is to continue his masters’ martial art form through instruction, seminars and demonstrations.
Sifu Young has demonstrated Hung Kuen Kung Fu, self-defence and ancient weaponry in Canada, China, the United States and the Philippine Islands. He has conducted seminars in Lor’s Hung Kuen and lion dancing in Ontario, Vancouver and New Mexico. He continues to perform the traditional Chinese Southern (Fut Shan) Lion dance. He instructs personal safety and physical restraining techniques to paramedics, health care professionals and college students. Sifu Robin Young is a retired college professor and has taught in the paramedic and health sciences programsfor over 30years.
